Postdoc positions in ergodic theory

(with connections to combinatorics and number theory)

2023 - 2025

Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics

University of Crete

Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I or ÅË.ÉÄ.Å.Ê.) Grant

Principal Investigator: Nikos Frantzikinakis

Research postdoc positions (and in exceptional cases Phd positions) are available for varying durations from six months to two years in the period 2023-2025. The subject of the grant concerns mostly the applications of Ergodic Theory to problems in Combinatorics and Number Theory. My own list of publications will give a good idea of the subject.

The candidates should have experience in Ergodic Theory and/or Analytic Number Theory and a good research record.

The gross annual salary begins at roughly 21 thousand euros. This is slightly less than the Lecturer salary in Greece. There is also some travel money.

Currently funded:

    1. Kostantinos Tsinas (Phd student, July 2020--)
    2. Redmond McNamara (Postdoc, October 2023--)

Previously funded:

Borys Kuca (Postdoc, June 2022--August 2023)

February 2024: Informal expressions of interest are invited on a continual basis. Please attach your CV to your email and arrange for two or three letters of recommendation to be sent to frantzikinakis AT gmail.com.
