General Information
The euroconference will focus on the mathematical techniques for studying spatial aspects in development. Particular biological topics that will be addressed include cell division, cell migration (e.g. cell chemotaxis) and cell differentiation. Mathematical concepts that can be applied to such problems, and will be addressed by the euroconference, include: Cellular automata, stochastic processes, PDEs and analysis of equation-free systems.
(Official announcement)The aims of the euroconference are to:
- Present new methods for studying each of the three different areas in biology.
- Explore the different view points offered by the different modelling strategies.
- Compare and discuss the similarities offered by similar modeling strategies to different biological problems.
- Allow for the interaction of junior and senior scientists in an informal setting, and attract new researchers from both the area of mathematics / engineering and biology to biomathematical interdisciplinary research.
