A welcome reception will take place in Atlantis hotel on Sunday afternoon, May 19th. The program of presentations will start on Sunday afternoon, May 19th, with introductory lectures and will finish on Wednesday afternoon, May 22nd. A poster session is scheduled for Tuesday evening, May 21st.

Conference Dinner

It will take place on Tuesday 21st May in Taverna Harilaos in the village Rogdia overlooking the sea and the city of Heraklion.

• Meeting time is 19:15 on Tuesday 21st May.
• Meeting point is at the main entrance of the Hotel Atlantis.
• We will go to the tavern and return to the Hotel Atlantis by bus.



The wine for the dinner is offered by the local winery "Lyrarakis".




Wine tasting



We may join us in a visit to the local winery Lyrarakis for wine tasting. This will take place, after the end of the Conference, in the afternoon of Wednesday the 22nd. The cost for this activity is 35 € (not included in the registration) and it includes wine tasting, accompanying snacks, and transportation.

Excursions, sightseeing



On Monday afternoon we will go on a guided tour in the city of Heraklion. We will have a tiny glimpse into its long history starting in the ancient times with the Minoans, to the Classical Greeks times, and the Romans, to the Byzantium, the Arabs, and the Othomans.

The guided tour is offered by the city of Heraklion.




We further recommend the following activities during your stay in Heraklion.

• Visit archeological sites: Knossos (4km from city center), Festos (50 min drive from Heraklion) etc.
• Visit a number of excellent museums in the city: Archeological museum, Natural History museum, Byzantine Icons museum, Historical museum, Aquarium.
• Go for a walk on the massive Venetian Walls of Heraklion (2-3 km, 40 min).
